The Pink Avocado

This was a very difficult vendor to find.  Due to the timing of our ceremony and timeline of our reception, we decided to do a heavy hors d'oeurves, cocktail style reception instead of the typical stations/buffet style dinner menu.  This is going to be much cheaper, right?  No way.  We met with several caterers and learned that it is actually more expensive to do appetizers because of the individual assembly and prep work that goes into them.  So after many frustrating conversations and caterer searches, we found Pink Avocado (via the knot, of course!).  We met with Brenton and he was able to give us all the things we wanted and more for a price much closer to our budget.

At the wedding, they were very professional and things ran very smoothly.  There were a few things that did not get served or displayed the exact way that I had anticipated.  For example, PA has "green" serveware, things like "plasticware" made out of potato starch and cups made from corn.  We thought this was cool and requested it for use at the wedding.  Then the night of the wedding, I noticed that the nachos bar was being served in these take out container things.  Not exactly classy, but my guests seemed to think it was pretty cool, so whatever!  Also the ceviche was supposed to be served in shot glasses with tortilla strips and the lemonade bar looked nothing like the pictures I sent them, but all this stuff falls into the category of "I was the only one who knew it wasn't right" so really no big deal in the end.  Just not what I wanted. The food was yummy.  I didn't get to eat much that night, but we had leftovers we ate the next day.

Pink Avocado also did our bar service and this was great.  We had a lot of compliments on the food and drink......A-
