Becky Sosa, Stress Free Events
We hired Becky after hearing about how great she was from brides on the knot. She had done some weddings at Star Hill Ranch and she was very affordable. We did not budget for a wedding planner and I did not want to take money away from other places to pay for one. Since her prices were so great I decided to meet with her to see about getting her for the day of...just so my mom wouldn't be so stressed out with everything that day. After my parents and I met with her, we just decided it would be great to have someone help us with all the planning as well. I was living in College Station trying to finish vet school, my mom lives up in East TX and works full time, and we were planning a wedding in Austin...not exactly easy. So we hired her for her whole she-bang package. It was sooooooo great to have someone do all the phone tag, email exchanges, setting up meetings, etc. She was fabulous at this. I literally said- Becky, I will be in town the weekend of whatever and I want to meet with so-n-so, so-n-so, etc. She would set it all up and email me an itenerary of the weekend. As far as finding vendors, she put me in touch with several vendors, but ultimately I found all of my vendors myself, which was not that big of a deal to me.
Overall, I feel like Becky is very good at all the "technical" things, calling vendors, making sure everyone shows up and is in the right place at the right time, etc. However, I feel like her weakness is in more of the artistic side of event planning. I don't feel like Becky really understood the "vision" of my wedding even though I met with her several times, sent her tons of pictures, discussed all the details with her, etc. I am a big "details" person and I notice little things about stuff and want those little things to be like I envisioned them. These things just didn't seem to be as big of a deal to her. I am a very polite and considerate person, but at times Becky made me feel like I was being somewhat "bridezilla-ish". We had a pretty big wedding, lots of guests, lots of set up, and I just don't know that Becky was quite prepared for it.
There were no major catastrophes and I know there is no way in the world we could have pulled off this event without Becky. So, for the price, she was definately worth it, but I am glad we didn't pay more than we did.......C
