Hampton Inn & Suites.....Lakeway, TX

BOO Hampton Inn!!!!  Bottom line is that this is pretty much the only commercial hotel in the Lakeway/Bee Caves area.  There is a family owned hotel, Mountain Star Lodge, which I found to be semi-nice but way overpriced, and pretty small.  Then you have Lakeway Resort which is really expensive.  When we first started planning the wedding over a year and a half ago, these were our only options....then along came Hampton Inn, which they started building right on 620 in Lakeway and would be open before our wedding...perfect!  So we contacted the hotel and they let us block 50 of their 70 rooms (we could have used all 70 if they would have let us).  The manager, Bill, started off being fairly easy to work with, set us up a website were we could check our block, see who had reservations, how many rooms were left, etc.  Maybe 3-4 weeks before the wedding, there was some problem with the website and a large number of the reservations were no long visible on the website.  I get a little nervous, but know it is probably just some interweb issue, so I call to speak with Bill.  Not in the office, so I leave a message, does not call me back....My mom and I call every day for probably 7 days and can never get ahold of him!!!!  When we finally do get him on the phone he checks the reservations and determines that yes, there was some room code change in their system, but all our reservations are still there (never apologizes for being AWOL for the past several days).  We needed to contact him a few more times in the days leading up to the wedding and he is just generally rude to us on the phone.  The wedding weekend arrives and I have made these super cute door knob hangers to put on the doors to the guests rooms with a brochure I made about our wedding weekend.  Friday morning, I take them to the front desk and Bill informs me that the door knob hangers are not going to happen.  First he says some crap about hotel policy, which was obviously BS because he later makes a comment how "it would take forever to go put them on every guests door".  Basically he just didn't want to go to the effort to put them on the doors....even thougth my wedding was giving him over 70% of his business that weekend!!!!  They ended up handing them to people when they checked in.  Whatever.  The hotel itself and the rooms were very nice and the rest of the staff was much nicer and actually very easy to work with.  We found that Shan was very helpul and he was actually nice to us.  Bill was just an all around jerk, was rude to me and my parents on several occasions.  Lakeway needs to build more hotels!!!!!.....F!
